Saying a little "am sorry" can make that Relationship Work!
I Can't Say Sorry for Nothing...
Son: Dad, I want to get married
Dad: First, tell me you are sorry
Son: For what?
Dad: Say sorry
Son: But for what? What did I do?
Dad: Just say sorry
Son: But...What have I done wrong?
Dad: I said, say sorry
Son: Why???
Dad: Say Sorry!!
Son: Please... Just tell me why?!
Dad: Say sorry...
Son: OK Dad, I am sorry
Dad: Uhun... you've just qualified for marriage.
When you learn to say sorry for no reason at all,
then you are ready to get married!
I can never forget this, It was in Rev Omar Pela's
church.
He told a story of how on a particular morning,
his wife stormed into the room with a moody
look on her face.. Being a gentleman, he asked,
sweetheart what's wrong? She said, nothing!
(you know when a lady tells you...nothing. irk!).
So he impressed further, You don't sound fine
dear... She replied, I said I'm fine! He said at
that moment he tried to replay in his head, if
there was any misunderstanding previously... He
couldn't remember any. So, not to cause any
tension at home, he decided to continue his
study in church office...
As he picked the car keys to leave, the wife
blurted.. So you are going to leave without
showing concern or care.
He said at that point he was angry and
shouted... Did I not ask you? What else do you
want me to do... So he slammed the door and
left.
On getting to the car downstairs about to start
the car... The Holy spirit asked him, if someone
passes by now and mistakenly hit his leg on a
stone, what would you say? He replied, I will tell
the person sorry. The Holy spirit asked again, did
you cause the person to hit his leg on the stone?
He said no! Then why would you say sorry for
what you didn't cause?...
He said instantly he got the message the Holy
spirit was trying to pass across... that you don't
have to be the cause to say sorry. So he got
back upstairs, his wife looking at him angrily...
Then he said, sweetheart I'm sorry...
She just wrapped her arm around him and sobs.
What a wonder! He said he was left speechless
and wondering..
Dear friends, stop justifying yourself. Can you
just tell him/her you are sorry even if it was your
partner's fault? I am sorry can make that
relationship work!

Chibok Girls Saga: #BringBackOurGirls
Nigeria Chibok Girls shown alive in new video:
A video released by Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram appears to show some of the schoolgirls kidnapped two years ago from the town of Chibok.
The video, apparently filmed in December, was sent to the Nigerian government and shows 15 girls in black robes identifying themselves as pupils abducted from the school.
Some of those filmed have been identified by their parents.
It is the first footage of the girls to be seen since May 2014.
The kidnapping of the 276 girls triggered the global social media campaign #BringBackOurGirls, involving US first lady Michelle Obama and a host of celebrities.
But despite their efforts, most of the girls are still missing.
■ Desperate call to missing daughter’s phone
■ Updates from Bring Back Our Girls march
■ What we know
■ Torment of a freed Boko Haram 'bride'
■ Risks of military intervention
Meanwhile, hundreds of parents are due to hold a march in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, to demand the government does more to find their daughters.
The BBC's Martin Patience in Abuja says they blame the previous government for doing nothing when the abduction took place and now the current administration for failing to devote enough resources to the search.
Boko Haram militants attacked the government boarding school in Borno state on 14 April 2014, seizing the girls who had gone there to take exams.
Shortly afterwards they released a video of them and demanded a prisoner exchange.
Boko Haram's leader, Abubakar Shekau, said the girls had converted to Islam and he threatened to force them into marriage with his fighters or sell them into slavery.
As the months passed, about 57 students managed to escape but at least 219 are still missing.
The latest video, apparently filmed on Christmas Day 2015 and now broadcast on CNN, shows the girls pleading with the Nigerian government to co-operate with militants on their release.
They said they were being treated well but wanted to be with their families.
Two mothers, Rifkatu Ayuba and Mary Ishaya, said they recognised their daughters in the video while a third mother, Yana Galang, identified five of the missing girls, Reuters reported.
They were shown the video at a screening organised by local officials in Maiduguri, capital of Borno state.
"They were definitely our daughters... all we want is for the government to bring back our girls," said Mrs Galang.
Amnesty International says about 2,000 children have been abducted by Boko Haram since 2014. Many are used as sex slaves, fighters and even suicide bombers.
Although the militants are still launching attacks, the Nigerian army has made progress in its fight against them over the past year, our correspondent adds.
It has retaken towns and villages controlled by Boko Haram and has also freed hundreds of women and children held captive.
Boko Haram at a glance:
■ Founded in 2002, initially focused on opposing Western-style education - Boko Haram means "Western education is forbidden" in the Hausa language
■ Launched military operations in 2009
■ Thousands killed, mostly in north-eastern Nigeria, hundreds abducted, including at least 200 schoolgirls
■ Joined so-called Islamic State, now calls itself IS's "West African province"
■ Seized large area in north-east, where it declared caliphate
■ Regional force has retaken most territory last year

Police Accused Of Assaulting Lawyer In Lagos
42 year old Sunday Elimihe(pictured below), a Lagos based lawyer has accused the police officers attached to the Onipanu Division in Lagos state of beating him up and leaving him with a wounded eye.
The Nation reports that Elimihe was rushed to the Shomolu General Hospital Thursday, after he was assaulted by some policemen because he refused to give them N1,000 bribe. Narrating what happened, the victim who is currently hospitalized, said
“On my way coming from Lekki where I went to check a property with my client, I decided to use the Onipanu police station road, by Apata. Immediately I drove into the street close to the station, one Corporal Alonge stopped me, demanded for my vehicle particulars. I gave them to him, then he demanded for my driver’s license, which I also gave him. When he discovered I did not commit any offence, he asked for my tinted glass permit which I gave him. He told me I was using a forged tinted glass permit. I told him I could not have forged a police document as a lawyer.
He became furious and said he was going to arrest me. He jumped into my vehicle and insisted I must give him N1,000 to bail myself. I said I was not going to give him any money since I have not committed any offence.
He pounced on me and cocked his gun threatening to shoot me if I make a move. Another policewoman who sighted us came and dragged the gun from him. The policeman after being disarmed descended on me and gave me the beating of my life. He pushed me into the cell and another policeman came inside the cell, locked up the cell and beat me for 30 minutes. I see this as intimidation of the highest order, not because I am a lawyer, but because I am an average Nigerian. I was humiliated like a common criminal. This is oppression. One of my eyes is partially blind. I have been vomiting blood since yesterday. It was the intervention of a good policeman in the station who warned them not to kill me. I would have been dead by now,” he said.
